Askern is a historical spa town situated north of Doncaster in South Yorkshire. With an approximate population of 5,400 people. Askern is a medium sized town run by Askern Town Council, which is based at Alexander House, situated opposite Askern Lake on the A19.

Askern Town Council currently comprises of nine councillors, all of whom meet regularly to serve the community on a voluntary basis for a minimum term of three years.
